Activities
Compared to a resource, an activity expects some form of learner interaction - this is Moodle in receive mode. This could be an obvious example, such as a quiz where the learner will type in a response for Moodle to mark, or it could be a forum where social constructionist learning takes place.
Does the ID want to capture input from the student? If so, then it's a new activity plugin that we need to develop.
Note that there are subsets of plugins that apply to different interaction types. In the rest of this section, we consider just two of these plugin types: quiz plugins and assignment plugins. These are the two most common types of learner interaction to be queried by an instructional designer.
